Ready or not?

Ready for the health inspector, every shift.

Pasalo turns Florida's inspection rules into short lessons, a practice inspection and plain answers your whole crew can use on their own phones, in five languages.

The problem

Getting ready is harder than it should be.

  • The inspector doesn't call ahead.

Inspections are unannounced. Your kitchen has to be ready on any shift, not just the day you planned for.

  • Your crew turns over and speaks more than one language.

New people start all the time, and not everyone learns best in English.

  • The rules are long, and written for lawyers.

Busy cooks and managers need plain answers, not pages of legal text.

How it works

Four things your crew can do on their phones.

Practice

Practice the inspection.

Walk your kitchen the way a Florida inspector would, item by item, following the state's own categories and violation classes. Mark pass, fail or doesn't apply, add a photo, assign the fix to a person. Get a report in the state's terms and a Pasalo readiness score out of 100.

Learn

Train everyone, at their own pace.

41 short lessons in three levels: Foundations for new staff, Line Ready for experienced staff, Chef / Person in Charge for chefs and managers. Each ends with a quick check; missed questions come back for review; every lesson can be read aloud.

Stay informed

Know when the state inspects you.

When the state's public records show a new inspection at your restaurant, owners and managers get an email and a phone notice, with a fix for each cited problem and the right lessons sent to the people who need them.

Five languages

Hello Hola Bonjou Bonjour Olá

Every lesson, answer and screen in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, French and Portuguese. Each person picks their own language, and can have any lesson read aloud.

Our sources

Built from the rules, checked twice.

Every rule, temperature and time in Pasalo is written from Florida's own sources: DBPR's rules (Chapters 61C-1 and 61C-4, Florida Administrative Code), the FDA Food Code 2017 as Florida adopts it, and DBPR's violation list. A second, separate reviewer checks it before it ships. Good practice is labeled as good practice, never as law.
